Penalties for
Voting Violations
Guidelines
You may vote absentee if you are unable to vote at your
regular polling place on election day if:
You will be out of the county on
election day.
You are physically incapacitated
and will be unable to vote in person on election day.
You are required to work a shift
that has at least 10 hours that coincide with the polling place hours.
You are a student at an
educational institution located outside the county of your permanent
address and therefore are unable to vote at your usual voting place.
You are a member, or the spouse
of a member, of the armed forces of the United States and are entitled to
vote be absentee pursuant to the Uniformed and Overseas Citizen Absentee
Voting Act, 42 USC, 1973ff.
There are also provisions for absentee voting if you
should have a medical or business emergency prior to election day.

Applications for absentee ballots are available in the
Circuit Clerk's Office.
Applications will be processed as soon as they are
received, however, ballots will not be mailed prior to April 22 for
Primary, June 8 for the Run-Off, and September 23, 2004 General Election.
